How link building has changed in 2013

This year Google Inc introduced the new search algorithm "Hummingbird" with the intent to allow a better management of users' requests, always longer, complex and structured.

The update will inevitably affect the SEO world, being designed to gradually shift the focus on the quality of content and the relationships between information. Starting from 2014, it will be increasingly important to think of alluring your target, rather than trying to charm search engine spiders. Links are an important SEO feature that allows traffic generation, but if our visitors do not spend more than a few seconds on our site, Google may be aware of it and penalise us.

It will also be important to move from the obsolete concept of "Exchanging links" and start linking your content with pages that could be interesting for your readership, without necessarily claiming backlinks. Obviously, the greater the authority of the site that we link with, the greater the possibility of being appraised by "Hummingbird". Moreover, it seems that the connections between companies, groups and sectors that have real relations outside the web are enhanced. Basically the new trend is clear: no shortcuts!Better having few links, but of the highest quality and addressed to pages of value for our target. A whole new kettle of fish for copywriters and creators of content in general, which will have to enter the perspective of writing for users instead of for search engines!
