Nowadays anyone who wants to efficiently position their site in the ocean of the internet should contact a SEO Specialist, that is, an expert in Search Engine Optimisation. This skill provides a series of specific techniques that optimise your position on search engines and, consequently, increase the traffic on your site.
But how do you become a SEO expert? Currently there are no real schools dedicated to this role, but there are training courses or micro-master degrees related to the various aspects of SEO such as SEO Writing/Copywriting, SEO Web, SEO Mobile and so on. Here are some guidelines to understand what an SEO expert must deal with and which areas they must specialise in to fully cover this role:
- Optimisation of pages, or optimisation of HTML language. A sites structure in terms of language should not be left to chance, starting from one of the fundamental elements for site management: the title. You have to manage all types of tags: from the Tag Title (clickable text/link that appears in the search results), to the Tag Heading (titles and subtitles of a web page), tag for images and pdf files.
- Optimisation of content. Content must be original and well written, under the penalty of exclusion by search engines to get among the first places of the results. Particular attention should be paid to keywords, which must vary thanks to the use of synonyms. Repetition without variation could cost a site or text the Spam stigma.
- Optimisation of hypertext. A real SEO expert also works on link building because they are aware of this technique's importance for a good positioning of the page on search engines. You need to imagine a website or an article as a junction where you can access, through valid links inherently related and other useful parallel universes.
