Guest posts: an obsolete strategy

The web is changing and, with it, so are the SEO techniques adopted by bloggers and industry professionals. If, until recently, the link and post-guest strategy could seem useful and plausible, nowadays it seems that they are no longer so: Google becomes more selective and intelligent and tries to identify all the SEO practices applied in a non-natural way.

Many marketing and SEO companies entrust bloggers with the task of advertising their brand, or getting better positioning for their sites on SERPs on Google through the use of guest posts. But what emerges seems to discredit and question this widely practiced SEO technique on the web. British newspapers report "Flip Guest Blogging on its Head, With Steroids ". But what is actually a guest post? This is a unique content that uses SEO writing rules and that contains a link to another site. It is hosted (guest note), within a site or a blog. The fundamental rule is that the host blog must be authoritative and have some credence in the web. The new emerging thesis seems counter what have been and still are guest post tricks.

Through this tool both the host and the receiving blog have benefited. A very important element that characterises a good guest post, is represented by a theme on the two blogs or sites that must be similar, or equal, in content. Incurring errors in the structural point of a guest post can give undesired results.
